When choosing Vessel sealer
What you need to keep in mind..?
1. Energy generator should be of renoun brand
2. It should not have fan assembly to dissipate heat.
3. Current sent between two electrode should be AC and not DC
Protein are electronically charged particles.
If current is uni-directional then one electrode will be coated by protein precipitate.
If it is AC in which it is bi-directional then protein will oscillate between two electrode and there will not be sticky precipitation on electrode surface
4. Too much heat generated between electrode can lead to sloughing later on.
Ideal maximum temperature is less than 95°C
Heart of surgery is our ESU (Electro surgical unit)
With good camera scope and monitor you can see clearly.
With good CO2 insufflator you can be confident about perfect pressure in abdomen.
But without good electrosurgical unit (ESU), performance can not be good.
Good surgeons spends more for ESU than anything else.
If you have limited money, give priority to ESU
